MINT SYRUP (2:1)
- 200g sugar
- 100g water
- Fresh mint, blanched
SPEEDY MOJITO
- 2 oz (60 ml) lightly aged rum
- 1 oz (30 ml) lime juice
- 0.75 oz (22.5 ml) mint syrup
- Soda water, splash

What's poppin, everyone? Been a lil minute since I posted. But it looks like we gotta Tipsy Bartender live episode on Memorial Day. Shoutout to the fallen soldiers and the families. Shoutout to the peeps that are/were in the armed forces. Anyway, it's a chill day for me. Getting back into the groove before the work grind kicks up tomorrow.
Now, this is a pretty cool video. I remember like over a decade ago my family would get the Costco vodka. The rumor was that it was like store-brand version of Grey Goose. However, it was not half bad. It was pretty smooth for the price point and it was nearly identical in a libation. Here Andre, the Sommelier, is actually doing a taste test (neat at that) of all the Costco-based spirits. Check it out:
I haven't had Cachaca in quite some time. It's still a bit expensive to get here in the states, even more of the bottom grade stuff. However, I'm trying to get some quality stuff just since the weather is getting nice. Anyway, peep some of the amazing libations below:
BATIDA ROSA (1:00)

CALDO DE CAÑA (4:22)

.50 oz (15 ml) Rich Simple Syrup

.50 oz (15 ml) Elderflower Liqueur

Now, this is pretty interesting. I've never seen a split between Scotch whisky and Irish whiskey in one drink before. I actually want to try this one day and see how it pairs up.

30 ml Scotch whisky
30 ml Irish whiskey
15 ml lemon juice
15 ml orgeat

I love libations with a bit of history and flair to them. This is a simple drink, but the ingredients are top-notch and it helps that there's some reference to yesteryear. I'd def drink this on a rainy day here.
1.5 oz. 100 Proof Bourbon
1 oz Grapefruit Juice
.5 oz. Honey Syrup
This is perfect. Right in time for St. Paddy's weekend! Also, can't forget the TikTok ban, so I'm curious to see how many of these libations will appear before it happens.
It's funny how this is actually not Spanish recipe, per se, but it does have influence from Spanish (look up the Carajillo). Still an absolutely amazing libation with some incredible ingredients.

3/4 oz. (22.5 ml) Hamilton 151 Demerara Overproof Rum
1 oz. (30 ml) St. George NOLA Coffee Liqueur
1/2 oz. (15 ml) Marie Brizard Orange Curaçao
2-3 oz. (60-90 ml) hot coffee
Top with heavy cream (lightly whipped)
Grated nutmeg & burnt sugared rim for garnish
