How to make your own Jalapeno Infused Vodka via Tipsy Bartender
Ahhh! I know this here all too well! I actually made a crazy infusion using Coconut Vodka and Coconut Rum called the Tropical Storm. You may remember it.

Matching the right alcoholic beverage to it's right event - #PROMIXTIP101 via PromixTV
This is actually a good topic that not a lot of people on YouTube have touched surprisingly! They'll tell you what bottles to buy but not tell you the occasion! Tis leads me to thinking about different recipes, I've posted for different things.
For example, a huge house party or a tailgating event like he said, Jungle Juice or Jungle Punch is an excellent way to make something for everybody. For a great Jungle Juice recipe, please check out this post I made called One of the Greatest Jungle Juices ever.
However, a good sit down and a romantic spot. A good bottle of wine is great. Also, it depends on what kind of sit down. Is it a dinner, a nice evening gathering? What? You should check out this post on wines and glasses.
Of course, if you want to get it in at sports events like the Superbowl, strong ass drinks like Long Island Ice Teas and Margaritas would be the way to go!

How to make the Hpnotiq Romeo and Juliet via Hotmixology
Now this is a very interesting and unique cocktail bringing in a lot of different elements I've not seen before. You have Hpnotiq and Ciroc. If you know both of these brands, they actually have a pretty interesting history together.
Back in 2001, a guy by the name of Nick Storm (Liquor Brand Promoter) was in New York City, and a guy that was the head of Hpnotiq (pronounced originally Hip-no-teeq), came up to Nick Storm to help get the buzz of the product out. Alize another liquor close to Hpnotiq featuring the mix of a nice Vodka and Cognac with tropical flavors was the dominate one at the time. However, within a few years, Hpnotiq blew it out the water. It got really famous and it was in product placement for a bunch of high powered Hip-Hop artists in the early 2000s such as Fabolous, Lloyd Banks, and R. Kelly to name a few. It sold over a million cases in 2003.
Just back in late 2007, the brand Ciroc as we all know is pretty much heavily marketed by Diddy, was just really coming up in the U.S. Well, actually, it had been around since 2003 but just didn't have the right promotion behind it. However, the help of Sean "Diddy" Combs, Nick Storm, and the Ciroc, this unknown premium vodka got to the number 2 vodka right under Grey Goose within 3 years of heavy promotion. It sold over a million cases as well.
Now, to bring this all together, you have two premium products, a sweet and sour mix, lime juice topped with champagne to bring a beautiful cocktail for both men and women. Check out the recipes:
Romeo
1 1/2 oz Ciroc Peach
1 oz Hpnotiq
Fresh Lime Juice
Splash Sweet and Sour

Gypsy Queen Cocktail - Simon Ford - Absolut Vodka - Small Screen
Really cool history on this particular cocktail.
After prohibition a number of Russian and Polish bars and restaurants that catered to immigrant populations in America began (or continued more openly) serving traditional spirits along with their traditional cuisine. Vodka being the spirit of choice for many, it is no wonder that cocktails were born behind these bars that featured the spirit. The Gypsy Queen, recently unearthed by David Wondrich, was created at the Russian Tea Room and can be found in the book "Russian Dishes and What They Are Made Of"
2 oz Absolut Vodka
1 oz Benedictine
2 dashes Angostura Bitters

Why is Tequila so popular?
Ahh, today. We are touching the topic of Tequila. Tequila, such a popular drink these days. There are a lot of questions correlating to this particular manner. What is Tequila? What are good brands? Why is Patron so popular? How is tequila made. Well, I'll touch all of that now.
Tequila is an agave based liquor made from agave plants in Mexico. These things are HUGE!!! Blue Agave, the main ingredient in Tequila, is actually produced in Jalisco, Mexico. In fact, you can see Lil Jon making his own Don Lil Jon.
Some good brands you can get at a decent price are 1800 Tequila, Cavalinho, Partida, etc. Solid brands and they are 100% de Agave Tequila based.
Why is Jose Cuervo Gold/Especial so popular? Well, it's CHEAP as hell for one thing. And the color probably makes you think it's aged. Speaking of which, this is not real tequila. I'm not knocking Jose Cuervo the brand, but the Especial edition is not the real McCoy. You can find out here.
Tequila is used as a great party shot especially in the college crowd. People love a good margarita and a Long Island that uses Tequila.
Now, you ask why is Patron such a popular brand of Tequila? Wll, this is simple! Marketing! Sure, Patron is a very smooth brand of Tequila, but is it the best? I honestly would go for Don Julio before Patron. However, Patron has marketed itself in so many popular songs that it pretty much sells itself and very well might I add.
Pretty much when it all boils down to it. A good tequila has a few main things going for it: 100 de Agave, Good flavor, smoothness (on ice, in a shot, or even in the case of a great cocktail). If you want a bit more of a visual break down, check out this video:

The Mojito is one of those classic latin based drinks that just scream lime and mint. It probably gets you tipsy and keeps your breath minty fresh. LOLOL. On the serious tip, it's not hard to make but it does require a use of a muddler. You can purchase those below. For now, here's the recipe:
6-12 Mint Leaves
3/4 oz. Simple Syrup
1/2 oz. Lime (fresher the lime, the better)
1 1/2 oz. Light Rum
Top with Club Soda
Garnish with a Sprig of Mint
Garnish with Lime
This is just a basic one, there are countless other recipes you can do such as a Mango Mojito, etc.

10 Interesting Drinking Trends in the year 2013
As a psuedo mixologist, I'm always looking for new things to look onto for the coming year. Whether it's a type of cocktail, a certain style, a new bar look, etc. You'll always find some interesting things.
1.) Tea - this is pretty interesting and kind of suitable depending on the time. I mean, right now it's January so of course it'll be mighty cold. I can see why starting the day off with Tea or before. Also, there's an interesting mix Scotch and Green Tea.
Infusion
Meat - Bacon and Shark. These things are actually becoming a rage and a sort of weird delicacy. Go to my post about the Snake and Vodka.
Wine/Ciders - these are perfect to go with food. Bars make much more because they'll serve alcohol and dinner for patrons.
Mixed Drinks - save time. We aren't talking about the mixed low alcoholic drinks, but some of your favorites on tap already pre-made.
Specialty - sugars, garnishes, bitters. Certain bitters, fruits for garnishes and even things like Agave Nectar is more apparent.
Less Alcohol - no flat on face. People are starting to get into more lower alcoholic beverages so they have a smoother ride home.
Fresher Ingredients - I actually wrote a hubpage on this
Technology - Digital tablet menus, kiosks, smart phone apps and QR codes make drinking a 21st century activity. A lot of smartphone apps for different cocktails just in case people forget.
Whiskey - classic cocktails. People are going back to the older cocktails that have a sort of sophistication that the newer ones don't.
For more information on this please check out Top Ten Drinking Trends 2013 and London Drinks Trending 2013.

Lose weight with an HCG diet and still enjoy some great cocktails at Happy Hour
Getting on a great HCG diet will help you not only boost your metabolism, but develop your muscles quicker. You'll be able to lose stubborn weight that's stayed on you throughout the years. You'll unleash a hormone inside your body that will turn that stored fat into an active energy resource. You will continually burn calories with a great eating schedule/diet as well as a great exercise program. When you burn fat at that right and continue to build lean muscle, you can still go out from time to time and enjoy a nice happy hour with friends or co-workers. Sit back and enjoy yourself a nice, cool cocktail at the end of a long week.

Speed up your metabolism by getting on a high HCG diet and slim cocktails
Do you want to still party but create a way to lose weight? Getting on a well balanced diet using HCG will help you to achieve that feat. One great thing about eating a low calorie diet yet maintaining a good exercise program is that you create an active HCG. Instead of storing excess fat, you use that as fuel for your everyday movements. In turn, this helps you have a lot more energy through the day because you aren't just storing it in your reserves. This way you won't have to worry about going out from time to time and drinking a nice slim cocktail with more natural fruit juice or your favorite liquor on ice.

Five Books about Bartending recommended by Jeffrey Morgenthaler
Hey, everyone! I know I posted up some advice and bartending videos, but you can never go wrong with a good list of books. Jeffrey Morgenthaler is an excellent bartender with a lot of great experience. His resume is rather extensive and he has an appreciation for no bullshit cocktails. I definitely have to give him major props.
He actually recommends 10 books about bartending but I'm doing this in the interest of time. However, all of these books have stood the test of time. A lot of these recipes you don't really even see anymore these days. These days the game is all about color and sweetness. It may look appealing to the eye, but the is not up to par because either it's too sweet or just way too strong that you cannot taste anything else. I feel like everything is so rushed and so fast paced sometimes that people don't even really take in the full love of their drink simply because they want to get drunk quick. They don't really pace themselves. By all means, get a buzz but take your time and enjoy what you paid for.
If you ever seen any of Morgenthaler's videos, you'll realize that this guy is very passionate and gets right to his point. You can check out his 10 recommended bartending books right here or just scroll down this post to see the 5 out of the 10 I recommend.
1.) Cosmopolitan: A Bartender's Life
Cosmopolitan is a memoir of the bartending life structured as a day in the life of Passerby, the bar owned and run by Toby Cecchini. It is, as well, a rich study of human nature—of the outlandish behavior of the human animal under the influence of alcohol, of lust, and of the sheer desire to bust loose and party. As the typical day progresses, Cecchini muses over a life spent in the service industry and the fascinating particulars of his chosen profession. He is by turns witty, acute, mordant, and lyrical in dealing with the realities of his profession, shedding plenty of light on the hidden corners of what people do when they go out at night.
2.) The Joy of Mixology
An original book on the craft of mixology is a rare gem. Gary Regan's The Joy of Mixology is such a gem, one whose genius lies in Regan?s breakthrough system for categorizing drinks that helps bartenders?both professionals and amateurs alike?not only to remember drink recipes but also to invent their own.
3.)Kindred Spirits 2
F. Paul Pacult's Kindred Spirits 2 is the follow-up to the groundbreaking 1997 book of spirits reviews, Kindred Spirits. Ten years later, this indispensable, comprehensive compilation of 2,400+ detailed evaluations of whiskeys, brandies, vodkas, tequilas, rums, gins, and liqueurs sets the international gold standard for distilled spirits criticism.
4.)Vintage Cocktails and Spirits
The authentic vintage cocktail has made a comeback. However, this book does not repeat the timeworn cocktails of old, which you can find anywhere. Instead, historian, expert and drink aficionado Dr. Cocktail has hand-picked 80 drinks rarely made today, all of which deserve revival. Some are from the nineteenth century, some from the Prohibition era and some from just after World War II as the golden age of the cocktail was waning. All are retrieved from extremely uncommon sources. In fact, some of these recipes were found carefully penned into old cocktail manuals or on scraps of paper and may have never been published before. Vintage Cocktails and Spirits pays homage to the great bartender of the past and the beverages they created, lost in time, but still grand and full of potential. If you have half the fun looking at this book and trying these recipes as the author did putting them together, a great party is sure to ensue.
5.) The Savoy Cocktail Book
Synonymous with style, elegance, and sophistication, the Savoy is unsurprisingly also the birthplace of some of the most famous cocktails in the world. During the 1920s and 1930s, Prohibition-dodging Americans visiting London for tea-dances and cocktails made the bar at the Savoy their home. Here they were entertained by legendary American barman Harry Craddock, inventor of the White Lady and popularizer of the Dry Martini. Originally published in 1930, the Savoy Cocktail Book features 750 of Harry's most popular recipes. It is a fascinating record of the cocktails that set London alight at the time—and which are just as popular today. Taking you from Slings to Smashes, Fizzes to Flips, and featuring art deco illustrations, this book is the perfect gift for any budding mixologist or fan of 1930s-style decadence and sophistication.

Right during cocktail hour have your closest family sign your wedding guest book
Before you start sipping your great cocktail, you can always take some time to write down some memories of you and your loved ones. Maybe use some disposable cameras to get everyone involved in taking photos for the night and you can all put it in the wedding guest book. You can get your wedding book with a special engraving in the front just to separate yourself from the pack. Design your book with some nice material that fits you and your spouse's style. Have it match your theme or do something completely different that suits your taste. Just make it a focal point to draw attention to your book.
Ciroc Summer Recipes
Thank you to the people over at Blue Flame Agency for these great recipes. Ciroc is an ultra premium Vodka mad from Ugni Blanc grapes out in France. It's a very special vodka that has the properties of a fine wine, but made with traditional vodka elements. Most vodkas are made from potato, rye, wheat, or some form of grain but this has a much crisper finish because of the grape distillation. Pretty good solid stuff indeed. I know it's winter but here are some great possibilities for your upcoming summer palate. Also, check out the post on the new Ciroc Summer Colada!! (added 2017)

How to make a French Martini
This is a really good recipe especially if you are the kind of person that loves a great drink while you are eating a great meal or a little something sweet right after your meal.
Recipe
1 1/2 oz vodka
1/4 oz Chambord Raspberry liqueur
1/4 oz pineapple juice
1 Twist Lemon Peel
Fat Frog Cocktail
I think this is perfect for a girl. Definitely check it out:
1 bottle Smirnoff Ice
1 bottle Bacardi Breezer Orange
1 bottle WKD Original Vodka Blue
Captain and Coke cocktail
This one here is a definitely classic. There are a lot of spiced rums out there, but Captain Morgan is definitely the most popular. Honestly, I would use Captain Morgan Black just because I like the flavor notes better and it's a bit stronger at 94.6 proof. Peep the recipe:
2 oz Captain Morgan
2 oz Coca Cola (I've even seen recipes with Pepsi)
If you really want to be fancy, give this either a Lemon Twist or just squeeze a Lemon wedge in your drink. Guaranteed, it'll give it a different flavor profile.
